Asus Eee Pad Transformer is perhaps the most wanted Android tablet now a days due to its amazing processor speed, the keyboard dock and specially the developments and hacks developed by the XDA-developers for it.

If you still want more processor speed than you can follow this guide to overclock your Asus Transformer to maximum speed of 1.6GHz that is I think the maximum speed attained on an Android tablet. Previously, we posted about Overclocking Motorola Xoom to 1.5GHz. For those of you who don’t know, Overclocking and kernels are developed by Android to maximize or minimize the processor speed of your device. Most of the times, these custom kernels are stable but as it is direct interfering with the device hardware, so there may be also chances of bricking or overheating. It is important to understand all associated risks before attempting to Overclock any Android device. So let’s come towards the instructions to overclock Asus Transformer.
Rooted Asus Eee Pad
Custom Overclocking / Undervolting Kernel
- Before we proceed, make sure that you have successfully rooted your Asus Eee pad Transformer. You can follow our guide to root your tablet in the simplest way (Posted Here)
- 2nd step is to download the Custom Overclocking/Undervolting Kernels from the Download links posted above.
- Copy it to the root of your SD card.
- Switch off your Tablet.
- Switch it on while holding power button and the volume down key simultaneously.
- Once in recovery mode, make a Nandroid backup by navigating down to Backup / Restore option
- After you’re done with the backup, go to recovery mode and select Install Zip from SD Card.
- Here, select the TF101-05-27-0620-SPICY-MEATABALL.zip and flash.
- Now let the flashing to do its work. Once the flashing is done restart your Tablet.
- Go to Android market and Download SetCPU. After installing it set the CPU speed up to 1.6GHz, according to your needs.
Viola! You have successfully overclocked your Asus Eee pad transformer to 1.6GHz.
